How to Find a Job in a Down Economy

July 4th, 2010 by admin in advice

Right now the economy is tough and a lot of people are having trouble finding a job. If you are one of those people, don’t despair, you can find a good job that will pay the bills. First, develop a system for checking available jobs when they become open. This may include reading the daily newspaper and checking 3 or 4 jobs sites for updates. This way you have your job openings covered.

Second, every day force yourself to contact at least 5 different employers. Sometimes even employers don’t know they need a job until someone shows them or tells them how they can add to their business by hiring someone else to do a job. Try to contact the people with authority to hire directly and skip the middle men or middle women. These people 98% of the time could care less if you find a good job. Meanwhile the owners have every interest in hiring you if they think you can help them make money.

Third, don’t stop applying for jobs. Just because you’ve found a job doesn’t mean you should quit looking for more opportunities. Keep reaching higher and higher and take shots at the sky. You never know when you might get hired but one thing is almost for certain – you won’t get hired if you don’t apply for the job.

If you’re interested in working from home, you I recommend you try to learn about blogging for extra side income when you’re not at work.
